I like this soup because it’s not pureed. Chunky soups are hard to find here. It has small chunks and shreds of chicken and recognizable bits of carrot, leek, celery and potato. The green beans are very hard to distinguish from the leeks because they’re shredded so finely. The chickeny broth is thickened with corn starch. Some may find it too salty. It’s a homey soup, nice with bread and maybe a chunk of cheddar.
The soup is made in the North (Craigavon, County Armagh) by Avondale Foods. Avondale is the food-services version of an OEM and manufactures soups, salads and sides for retailers like Asda, Dunnes, Superquinn and Tesco to brand as their own. Country Kitchen is Avondale’s own retail brand.
